Os moradores que esperam há anos pela confirmação que o Ipiranga pode ganhar um posto do Poupatempo, órgão que oferece vários serviços à população, estão cada vez mais contentes. Isso porque cada vez mais o posto de atendimento está mais perto de ser concretizado. Uma placa foi instalada no galpão abandonado na avenida Presidente Tancredo Neves, nas imediações da rua do Boqueirão, no Jardim Previdência, cujo terreno pertence ao Ipesp (Instituto de Pagamentos Especiais de São Paulo) e por muitos anos funcionou um Bingo e na sequência uma Churrascaria.
A iniciativa de trazer o Poupatempo para o bairro é uma luta antiga da liderança local com os empresários, principalmente do ipiranguista Sérgio Yamada. O pedido de abertura de uma agência foi protocolado por ele no dia 19 de abril de 2012, na Secretaria Estadual de Gestão Pública. Yamada também foi protagonista de um abaixo-assinado, com o qual conseguiu reunir mais de 2 mil assinaturas. A expectativa é que as obras comece em breve.
