Implantada na Escola Municipal de Ensino Fundamental (EMEF) Prof.ª Sylvia Martin Pires que está localizada na rua Italva, 266, na saúde, em 2017, a Academia Estudantil de Letras (AEL) Adélia Prado vem promovendo ações que incentivam a leitura, ampliam o repertório literário e aprofundam o conhecimento dos estudantes sobre os autores de suas preferências.
A ideia de implantar a AEL na EMEF Profª. Sylvia Martin Pires coincidiu com a expansão do projeto por toda a Rede Municipal. Os trabalhos se iniciaram com os professores Gislaine dos Santos Koenig, David Jaime Ferreira e Naíra Oliveira. Em reuniões semanais, procuraram um autor para ser o patrono da AEL. A intenção era que o autor estivesse vivo, para que pudesse conhecer os alunos, se assim fosse possível, brasileiro, e que ainda não tivesse sido escolhido por nenhuma outra escola.
Em meio a essas pesquisas, foi sugerido entre os professores do projeto o nome de Adélia Prado, por ter algumas características bem marcantes: poetisa, professora, mineira com uma vida simples e pacata e com obras que encantaram os estudantes.
Atualmente, a AEL Adélia Prado possui um grupo de 70 alunos de idades variadas, entre 6 a 14 anos, divididos em três turmas por faixas etárias. O projeto acontece em dois dias da semana, na extensão de jornada. São duas horas de aulas dedicadas a estudos literários e mais duas horas em atividades de teatro, cada ação executada por um professor. As aulas são ministradas pelas professoras Erika Nadal Ferreira Rodrigues, Katia Silva Rocha Vilela e Ivone Rodrigues Freire, que trabalham em conjunto e preparam saraus, seminários, peças teatrais, musicais, entre outras atividades.
Os estudantes do Ciclo de Alfabetização participam de um trabalho específico conduzido pela professora Karina Moura. Na “AELzinha”, as crianças entram em contato com a literatura e o teatro por meio de atividades lúdicas e prazerosas.
Os integrantes da AEL Adélia Prado já tiveram a oportunidade de participar de eventos como a Bienal do Livro e a Bienal de Arte e de conversar com autores como Daniel Munduruku, Pedro Bandeira e Ilan Brenman. Também apresentaram peças em homenagem a Walcyr Carrasco, participaram das Semanas de Arte Moderna das AELs e abriram um seminário na Academia Paulista de Letras com o espetáculo “Alice no País das Maravilhas”.
Para este ano de 2019, a AEL Adélia Prado pretende desenvolver piqueniques literários, nos quais os participantes poderão apresentar poesias e jograis para colegas e familiares, novas peças teatrais para a Semana de Arte Moderna e apresentações para crianças da Educação Infantil, além de mostras culturais, a 2ª festa anual de posse, encontros com escritores e visitas a museus, teatros e bibliotecas.
