De 12 de agosto a 30 de setembro, sempre aos domingos, às 11h, o Sesc Ipiranga realiza em seu Teatro uma temporada da elogiada peça infantil Histórias de Alexandre, do Grupo 59 de Teatro. Dirigida por Cristiane Paoli Quito, a peça é baseada em contos extraídos do livro Nordeste, de Graciliano Ramos. A encenação inclui canções inéditas que resgatam o cancioneiro popular brasileiro por meio de emboladas, repentes, rezas e modas de viola, compostas coletivamente e inspiradas em passagens do livro.
Com 60 minutos de duração, o enredo se desenvolve na pequena sala de Alexandre, um homem já velho, com um olho torto e típico contador de histórias. Ali, amigos se reúnem para ouvir as aventuras e façanhas realizadas por ele, sempre contadas com exagero e entusiasmo, e com a ajuda de sua mulher, Cesária, que nunca deixa o marido perder o fio da meada.
