Integrando as comemorações do Dia da Consciência Negra – festejado em 20 de novembro – o Festival Malungo 2ª Edição, projeto que reverencia a cultura negra, irá realizar, nos dias 9, 22 e 23, no CEU Heliópolis, shows gratuitos com artistas e grupos representativos da cultura popular brasileira, que ressaltam a matriz africana em ritmos como samba, jongo, bumba meu boi, capoeira, samba de roda, afro e partido alto.Hoje, quinta-feira (9), às 15h, apresenta-se o Conjunto Picafumo e Convidados que faz homenagem a Toinho Melodia com o espetáculo Também Sou Madeira. Dia 22 (quarta-feira) às 16h, o CEU recebe Raquel Tobias, com o show dançante Recordações, e o maranhense Tião Carvalho se apresenta na quinta-feira (23), às 20h. Ele é cantor, compositor, músico, dançarino e brincante em performance ímpar que une o bumba meu boi com a canção brasileira de raiz.
Idealizado pelo Estúdio 185 Apodi, o Festival Malungo é uma mostra inédita de música que reúne atrações de vários nichos e estilos da música brasileira que reverenciam nossa origem africana. “Malungo significa amigo, companheiro, camarada, aquele que não deixa o parceiro no meio do caminho. O termo é prudente para nomear o projeto, considerando que um grande time de artistas se une para cantar e fortalecer a música que traz o som e a vibração de nossas raízes africanas”, comenta o produtor e diretor artístico Sérgio Mendonça.
O projeto, que foi contemplado pela 6ª Edição do Edital de Apoio à Música para a Cidade de São Paulo, da Secretaria Municipal de Cultura – chega à sua segunda edição com shows presenciais e online. A primeira foi totalmente online, em 2021, devido à pandemia.
