Desde Abril deste ano o Projeto Heróis Usam Máscara já produziu 174 mil máscaras de pano que foram distribuídas aos moradores de Heliópolis e comunidades do entorno, o projeto é uma ação conjunta de Bradesco, Itaú e Santander, com concepção do Instituto BEI.
Em Heliópolis o projeto acontece em parceria com a UNAS, que reuniu costureiras da própria comunidade para produção das máscaras e vem realizando ações de entrega do item de proteção pelas ruas da comunidade. “Montamos uma verdadeira operação de salvar vidas” diz Cleide – Presidenta da UNAS
“De repente parou tudo por causa da pandemia, então eu já estava entrando em desespero e deprimida”. relata Antonia Pereira de 53 anos. Antonia mora em Heliópolis há 35 anos, e trabalha com costura em um pequeno cômodo de sua casa. Com a pandemia do coronavírus ela se viu em uma situação nunca vivida antes, “Chegava lá em baixo e a maquina parada, não aguentava mais”, com mais de 25 anos de trabalho na área da costura de repente ela e sua família se viram sem fonte de renda.
“Quantas costureiras não tem aqui dentro, que paga aluguel e estava passando necessidade? Estavam mesmo, infelizmente é a realidade, na situação que estamos passa! Então esse projeto ajudou muita gente aqui na comunidade”. ressalta Antonia Pereira, costureira do projeto em Heliópolis.
Além de fortalecer as costureiras de Heliópolis com a geração de renda em meio a pandemia, o projeto Heróis Usam Máscaras mudou a realidade da comunidade, distribuindo de forma gratuita máscaras de pano, que são um item importantíssimo na prevenção à Covid-19. “A gente ganha o dinheiro da gente e ainda está colaborando com a comunidade, ajudando a salvar vidas com as máscaras” diz Maria das Graças, 56 anos que também faz parte das costureira do projeto..
