A técnica une três conceitos: individualidade (cada pessoa sente e reage de maneira diferente), causalidade (o fisioterapeuta não se limita a acabar com a dor, mas busca sua causa) e globalidade (trata a maior parte do corpo envolvida na doença). Na primeira consulta com um RPGista (como é chamado o fisioterapeuta especializado no método), o paciente tem as zonas de seu corpo – cervical, ombros, dorsal, lombar, bacias, joelhos e pés – observadas nos mínimos detalhes. A partir de então, o profissional planeja seu trabalho em cima de oito posturas que serão executadas pelo paciente.
