O Circuito SPCine, promoveu a exibição do filme “O Tradutor”. Após a apresentação o ator Rodrigo Santoro e os diretores cubanos, Sebastián e Rodrigo Barriuso, participaram de um debate com a população.
A história retrata a vida real de um professor universitário de literatura russa, vivido por Santoro, que vê sua vida transformada ao ser designado como tradutor na ala infantil de um hospital cubano. Ele deve servir de intérprete entre os médicos e vítimas do acidente nuclear de Chernobil que acabaram de chegar a Havana, em Cuba.
“O Tradutor” fez parte da seleção oficial da última edição do Festival de Sundance, um dos principais eventos de cinema independente do mundo.
“A ideia de trazer a exibição do filme para uma escola pública surgiu de um desejo pessoal que eu tinha de dialogar com os alunos e professores. Minha mãe é professora, cresci com essa influência, além de ser a profissão que eu mais admiro. O personagem que eu faço é um professor eu sempre tive vontade de trazer para a escola pública, de conhecer, de escutar e encontrei no SPCine a uma oportunidade de realizar isso”, declarou o ator Rodrigo Santoro.
De acordo com Santoro, a arte é uma importante ferramenta de transformação social. “Cultura não é só entretenimento, na verdade ela renova, conta uma história e forma um povo. Sem cultura você não consegue ter educação e sem ela as pessoas não têm autonomia de pensamento crítico.
