A prefeitura de São Paulo vai abrir credenciamento para a contratação de até mil veículos para transporte escolar a partir de 2023. Essa contratação será necessária em função do decreto assinado na segunda-feira (9) pelo prefeito Ricardo Nunes e o secretário de Educação, Fernando Padula, que aumenta o raio de distância de estudantes atendidos pelo Programa de Transporte Escolar Municipal Gratuito (TEG). O investimento será de R$ 4,9 milhões por mês.
Com a mudança, os alunos que moram a partir de um quilômetro e meio da escola em que estão matriculados, passarão a ter direito ao transporte. Hoje, pela legislação em vigor são atendidos os alunos cuja distância é de dois quilômetros. Ao ampliar o raio de atendimento em 500 metros, a Prefeitura passará a atender, a partir do ano que vem, mais 22 mil estudantes, saltando de 29 mil para 51 mil, um aumento de 75%.
No total, hoje são contemplados mais de 81 mil estudantes de 0 a 12 anos. Destes, 29 mil moram, no mínimo, a dois quilômetros da unidade educacional, respeitando a legislação em vigor. O restante são alunos com deficiência, doenças crônicas em que há indicação médica de necessidade de transporte para ir e voltar da escola, ou ainda, têm barreiras físicas no meio do trajeto.
Com a nova regra, a Prefeitura atenderá na totalidade 103 mil bebês e crianças de 0 a 12 anos. O transporte é feito tanto para as aulas regulares quanto para as atividades oferecidas no contraturno, garantindo acesso e permanência das crianças à educação.
A distância entre a casa e a escola do aluno é calculada automaticamente pelo sistema Escola Online (EOL). Por isso, a partir do ano que vem os estudantes que fizerem a rematrícula ou matrícula na Rede Municipal e estiverem dentro da regra do programa, serão acionados pela escola.
Para o secretário da Educação, Fernando Padula, a ampliação do programa é mais um fator para garantir que as crianças cheguem às escolas de forma segura. “A distância da casa entre a escola não pode ser impeditivo de acesso e permanência.
