Um recorte da Mata Atlântica em pleno Parque Zoológico de São Paulo habitado por enormes dinossauros. Sim, animais da Era Mesozoica dividindo espaço com outros da Era atual, a Cenozoica. Tiranossauro Rex, Pterodátilos, Mamenquissauro e outros a uma distância assustadoramente próxima, capaz de se fazer ouvir as respirações e grunhidos dos gigantes e vivenciar, por alguns momentos, a rotina desses animais pré-históricos que despertam até hoje tanta curiosidade.Tal experiência, antes difícil de ser vivida fora das telas de cinema, já é possível no Zoológico de São Paulo desde 2014. Localizada na Alameda Lobo, próximo à Arena Cultural e ao Espaço Abaré, está montada a exposição “O Mundo dos Dinossauros”, a mais incrível e tecnológica já disponível no Brasil.
São mais de 20 dinossauros robotizados, em tamanho real, em uma área com mais de 3 mil metros quadrados em meio à natureza, como a que eles viviam há 65 milhões de anos, quando foram extintos. As peças estão posicionadas em meio à Mata Atlântica do Zoológico, no mesmo local onde, por conta da preservação ambiental, habitam diversas espécies de animais de vida livre, como tucanos, pica-paus, sabiás, tatus, macacos bugios, bichos-preguiça e lagartos teiús. As réplicas de dinossauros parecem reais, se movimentam e até respiram. Há animais de oito metros de altura e de até 25 metros de comprimento entre os expostos. Há ainda réplicas de fósseis.
Pesquisas revelam que os dinossauros habitaram a Terra há 220 milhões de anos. No Brasil, há vestígios deles no Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, Ceará, Paraíba, Goiás, Minas Gerais e Mato Grosso, mas a partir de agora eles estarão na capital paulista, em uma experiência totalmente real e interativa, inédita no país, usando parte de uma floresta natural, não mais representada.
A exposição, apresentada ao público ao ar livre, é considerada uma aventura que rompe conceitos, transformando meros visitantes em verdadeiros exploradores da Era Mesozoica. Crianças, jovens, adultos ou idosos se encantarão com a experiência mágica de tocar, ouvir, ver e sentir os monstros da pré-história.
A visita começa dentro do Zoológico, em uma área isolada dos outros animais, dando a quem optar por fazer o passeio pré-histórico uma sensação ainda mais próxima da atmosfera jurássica.

A novidade é que agora os visitantes poderão se divertir mais ainda em meio a esse cenário pré-histórico! O T-Rex Zoo apresenta seis novas atrações: o Gira Vulcão, Barco Baby, Gira Dino, Arvorismo, Dino Safari e Torre Kids, brinquedos temáticos destinados ao público infantil que podem ser adquiridos à parte na bilheteria do parque. Ou seja, o ingresso da exposição O Mundo dos Dinossauros não é extensivo às demais atrações (brinquedos e arvorismo).
