A tão esperada reinauguração do Museu do Ipiranga foi antecipada para o dia 6 de setembro, um dia antes da comemoração do Bicentenário da Independência do Brasil.
Previsto para ser reinaugurado no dia 7, o evento foi antecipado pelo Governo de São Paulo para evitar manifestações políticas e que tenham o objetivo de prejudicar a reabertura de um dos mais importantes museus do Brasil. A decisão está respaldada nas convocações que o presidente Jair Bolsonaro (PL) vem fazendo aos seus apoiadores para saírem as ruas no dia 7 de setembro.
Sérgio Sá Leitão, secretário estadual da Cultura, em declaração ao jornal Folha de São Paulo, afirmou que “estamos tomando todas as precauções para que o Museu do Ipiranga e o bicentenário possam ser celebrados sem nenhum tipo de mácula”.
Na opinião de Sérgio Sá Leitão, o museu e a independência são de todo os brasileiros, e precisam ficar imunes a esse clima de polarização.
Para a inauguração do museu e deverão ser convidados entre 1.500 a 2 mil pessoas, entre representantes do governo federal, estadual e municipal e os patrocinadores. Entre os convidados não vão estar presentes o presidente Jair Bolsonaro e o governador Rodrigo Garcia. Isso porque resolução do Tribunal Superior Eleitoral, os candidatos estão proibidos de comparecer a inaugurações de obras públicas nos três meses que antecedem a eleição
De acordo com o cronograma da Secretaria Estadual de Cultura, no dia 6 de setembro, às 18h30, o museu vai abrir as portas para os convidados e haverá um conserto da Orquestra da USP. Depois da fala da diretora do Museu Rosaria Ono, será servido um coquetel para os convidados na esplanada.
No dia 7, os artistas anônimos, os trabalhadores que atuaram na reconstrução do museu, seus familiares e estudantes de escolas públicas serão convidados a visitar o museu. A partir do dia 8 o público em geral poderá entrar no museu agendando as visitas através do site. Entre os dias 7 e 11 de setembro, haverá uma programação cultural no jardim francês.
