Mais de 5 mil pessoas participaram, no último final de semana, dias 20, 21 e 22 de maio, da tradicional festa em homenagem a uma das santas mais queridas dos católicos: Santa Rita de Cassia. Fies lotaram a Paróquia Santa Rita no Mirandópolis e às seis missas celebradas domingo, dia 22 estavam lotadas. “A igreja Santa Rita de Cássia vem cumprindo sua vocação de ser referência a tantos que procuram paz e motivação para seguirem seus caminhos.”, comenta Jorge Bernardes, pároco responsável pela igreja.
Diversas barracas com comes e bebes foram montadas ao redor da Praça Santa Rita de Cássia, no espaço em frente da Paróquia, 9 barracas: Lanches de Linguiça, carro-chefe do evento que acontece todos os anos, Espetinho, Caldo Verde, Cachorro quente, Doces, Bebidas, Salgados, Doces, Jogos Infantis comandados pelo grupo da Pastoral de Jovens da Paróquia.
Na barraca de doces, foi disponibilizado ainda o Bolo de Santa Rita, algo que a comunidade sempre procura nessas ocasiões.
Outro destaque foi um stand montado para a música que alegrou o ambiente e propiciou alegria para os cerca de 150 voluntários que arregaçaram as mangas e fizeram acontecer a festa.

A mensagem de Santa Rita ecoa entre os que a conhecem. Torna-se hoje muito propicia a medida em que transmite resignação e amor para com o próximo, sem distinção. E uma festa como essa é fundamental para a convivência dos munícipes do bairro, além de fiéis que vem de longe para homenagear a Santa.
Destaque ainda para a missa das 12h, presidida pelo Padre José Maria Mohamed que encantou a todos. Muitos vieram nos procurar para relatar a surpresa causada pelas suas palavras, disse o sacerdote.
Vale ressaltar que a festa foi de congraçamento, tinha no ar uma alegria diferente, que a gente pode até atribuir ao fato do afastamento de 2 anos ocasionado pela pandemia.
