O ator Ailton Graça, de 55 anos, assumiu na segunda-feira (2) a presidência da escola de samba mais antiga do carnaval de São Paulo, e adorada pelos moradores do Cambuci, a Lavapés, fundada em 1937, e que atualmente desfila no Grupo de Acesso de Bairros 2, da UESP.
Criado no samba, Graça ficou nacionalmente conhecido ao interpretar o traficante Majestade, no filme “Carandiru” e na série “Carcereiros” recebeu o pavilhão da escola das mãos da atual presidente, Rose Marcondes, em um evento no Theatro Municipal de São Paulo, como parte da transição que começou, em 2019. “Eu tinha um grupo de amigos e uma escola de samba chamada Pirata Negro, que na verdade é um instituto”, diz Ailton. “E, a gente estava correndo atrás de uma escola pra gente continuar trabalhando as narrativas pretas. E a nossa felicidade foi gigante quando nós encontramos a Lavapés. Então ficou, Lavapés Pirata Negro.”
A escola de samba Lavapés surgiu na década de 1930 no bairro Glicério. Foi fundada por Deolinda Madre, conhecida como madrinha Eunice, a partir de agora vai se chamar Lavapés Pirata Negro. A escola já foi sete vezes campeã do Grupo Especial nos anos 1950 e 1960. Porém, com o passar do tempo, a escola não acompanhou a evolução das concorrentes e acabou rebaixada, chegando a última divisão do samba paulistano.
Ele agora busca apoio financeiro para bancar a estrutura da Lavapés Pirata Negro. “Para manter uma estrutura como esta gente vai precisar ter apoio, a gente vai precisar de patrocinadores”, diz Ailton Graça. “A gente vai precisar pagar alguns funcionários, porque isso não vai andar sozinho. Ele vai precisar de uma estrutura administrativa efetiva e eficaz pra gente dar continuidade ao seguimento instituto e dar continuidade à escola.”
Ciente da responsabilidade que conduzir uma escola de samba, que mesmo estando no último grupo das escolas de samba paulistanas, é lugar de afeto, de carinho e de respeito, Ailton está muito envolvido e atarefado em arrumar o espaço cedido para a escola, em montar o desfile do carnaval de 2020.
