“Chispita” é a novela mais reprisada da TV brasileira, com um total de 7 reprises e 8 exibições. Febre nos anos 80, a trama teve diversos discos e até uma boneca lançada no Brasil.
Produzida pelo Canal de las Estrelas, do México em 1982, a trama foi protagonizada pela então atriz mirim Lucero e contou com a atuação de Angélica Aragón e Enrique Lizalde, sendo uma adaptação de Valentín Pimstein da telenovela argentina “Andrea Celeste”, obra original de Abel Santa Cruz.
A trama foi um êxito no México e em toda a América Latina, inclusive no Brasil onde foi exibida pelo SBT pela primeira vez entre 12 de março a 03 de novembro de 1984, tendo diversas reprises. A também rede brasileira CNT exibiu “Chispita” em 1997.
Maria Luisa (Angélica Aragón) e seu marido sofrem um terrível acidente, no qual o marido morre e ela perde a memória. Após o acidente, Maria Luisa não lembra que tem uma filha, Isabel (Lucero), mais conhecida como Chispita que se torna órfã e é levada para o orfanato do Padre Eugenio (Gastón Tuset). Quando Isabel faz 10 anos, é adotada por Alexandre (Enrique Lizalde), homem respeitável, generoso, viúvo e com dois filhos: João Carlos (Leonardo Daniel) e Lili (Usi Velasco). Quando Isabel é levada a casa, imediatamente se identifica com Glória (Alma Delfina), a empregada, que se torna sua grande amiga, assim como João Carlos, o que não acontece com Lili e Irene (Renata Flores), sua tutora, e as duas tornam a vida impossível para Chispita.
Como um milagre, Bertha (Hilda Aguirre) aparece, ela é irmã de caridade que leva Maria Luisa para trabalhar no orfanato em que Isabel viveu por anos e ainda frequenta. Bertha quer convencer Isabel a procurar sua mãe, devido a seu estranho desaparecimento. Entanto, Maria Luisa tem outro nome, todos a chamam como Lucia, devido à sua falta de memória.
