Basta alguns minutos caminhando pelas ruas do bairro para notar grafites de todos os tamanhos, pequenos, médios e os mais imponentes, como o mural em homenagem ao sambista paulistano Adoniran Barbosa, nome artístico de João Rubinato, ele foi compositor, cantor, humorista e ator brasileiro.
Resultado da união entre o Instituto Guima , o muralistas paulistano Eduardo Kobra e familiares de Adoniram Barbosa, o mural em homenagem ao sambista está na lateral do prédio na rua Heitor Peixoto, 702, da no Cambuci .A obra artística tem 30 metros de altura e 10 de largura e foi pintada pelo paulistano Eduardo Kobra.
A obra é um retrato colorido de Adoniran em primeiro plano e em segundo plano a do Viaduto do Chá em preto e branco. O desenho de Adoniran, conta o artista, foi inspirado em uma pesquisa de imagens que kobra fez no livro O Trem das Onze, de Celso Campos Júnior. Tão superlativo quanto o tamanho do trabalho é a quantidade de material gasto. O artista e sua equipe utilizaram 72 litros de esmalte sintético e 320 latas de sprays.
A pintura no prédio de seis andares ficou pronta no ano de 2018. “Esse trabalho é a fusão de dois projetos que tinha. O primeiro se relaciona a figuras importantes, o mural de Oscar Niemeyer na Av Paulista, o segundo é o Muro da Memória, em que exploro acontecimentos da história nacional e mundial”, explica Eduardo Kobra.
Desde 2006 já foram entregues cerca de 30 murais em avenidas e ruas de São Paulo. Geralmente os trabalhos de Eduardo Kobra são releituras de imagens antigas, como o painel gigante da avenida 23 de maio. Arte em 3D como o carro que fez na Praça do Patriarca.
