A procura pela vacina contra a febre amarela provocou uma enorme fila na Unidade Básica de Saúde da Vila das Mercês, que dobrava o quarteirão. A primeira pessoa da fila disse que chegou ao posto às 2h. Muitas pessoas disseram que já haviam procurado outras unidades no dia anterior, mas não conseguiram ser vacinados.
Ás 7h, quando a UBS abriu, mais de 300 pessoas estavam na fila. Ronaldo dos Santos foi um dos primeiros a chegar. “Todo mundo precisa se vacinar, eu principalmente, porque trabalho na zona norte, onde temos notícias de casos registrados.”
Laura Souza, aproveitou para levar a mãe e os dois filhos para se vacinarem. A espera já chegava à cinco horas. “É horrível ficar em fila, principalmente com crianças, mas tenho que agradecer por ter essa oportunidade. Pelo menos sei que eu, minha mãe e meus filhos vamos sair daqui protegidos contra a doença”, enfatizou.
A enfermeira Vânia Ferreira orientava quem poderia ou não tomar a vacina. Centenas de pessoas são vacinadas por dia na unidade.
Pâmela dos Santos levou até um banco para aguardar sentada na fila. “Não tem como ficar em pé e eu quero garantir essa vacina ainda hoje que eu estou de folga.”
A OMD (Organização Mundial de Saúde) incluiu na terça-feira (16) todo o Estado de São Paulo, no mapa das áreas de risco para contaminação de febre amarela. Diante da situação, o governador Geraldo Alckmin resolveu antecipar a campanha emergencial de vacinação contra a doença. Em vez do dia 3 de fevereiro, doses fracionadas (0,1 ml) da vacina serão aplicadas a partir do dia 29 deste mês.
