O fim de semana foi marcado pela 19ª festa de São Peregrino. Os fieis compareceram em peso para prestigiar a homenagem do padroeiro que ocorreu na sexta (4), sábado (5) e domingo (6). Animados e emocionados os devotos participaram de missas, do tradicional bingo, receberam bênçãos e visitaram a famosa quermesse que contou com barraca de doces, salgados e artesanatos. Cerca de 2 mil pessoas passaram pela paróquia nos 3 dias de festa.
Na sexta-feira (4), dia oficial do protetor contra o mal do câncer, uma missa celebrada especialmente contou com devotos de várias regiões. Os lugares foram concorridos e quem chegou cedo aproveitou para agradecer ao santo uma graça alcançada. “Cheguei antes da missa porque quero ter um momento de agradecimento a Deus por tudo que tenho conquistado”,a firmou José Firmino, morador da rua Tabor.
No sábado a festa teve sequência. A quermesse com guloseimas montada na lateral da igreja foi um sucesso, enquanto no salão principal o bingo com o sorteio de muitos prêmios atraia o público.
No domingo a comemoração contou com mais festa e uma missa especial celebrada às 19h. As barracas permaneceram abertas, e foi servido o almoço do padroeiro. “Não conhecia São peregrino, até que descobri o diagnostico de câncer. É um momento frágil e que precisamos de ajuda espiritual, senão caímos. Foi neste momento que me apeguei a Deus e comecei a frequentar a paróquia de São Peregrino”, enfatiza Marisa Thomaz.
São Peregrino nasceu em um berço nobre, em 1265, na cidade de Frrli, no norte da Itália. Ele desenvolveu um câncer na perna direita e aos 60 anos teria de amputar o membro. Caminhou com dificuldade até a capela, rezou pela intervenção de Cristo Crucificado e, na véspera da cirurgia, viu Cristo descer da cruz e tocar sua perna, curando a ferida.
