No dia 14 de outubro será levado a efeito um evento religioso dos mais importantes da Igreja. Por ocasião do Sínodo dos Jovens que será realizado na Itália, o já beatificado Papa Paulo VI (Giovanni Battista Enrico Antonio Maria Montini) subirá ao altar, ou seja, será canonizado. Nasceu de uma família rica de classe alta em Concesio, Lombardia, região ao norte da Itália. O seu pai era um advogado não praticante que se tornou editor e promotor corajoso de ação social. Montini era uma criança frágil, mas inteligente, que recebeu a sua primeira educação dos jesuítas na cidade de Brescia, também na Lombardia. Mesmo depois de entrar para o seminário foi autorizado a viver em casa por causa da sua saúde.
Este Santo, já o consideramos assim porque o milagre de comprovação de santidade já está reconhecido pelo Vaticano, foi responsável por extensa produção formativa para a Igreja, com 12 exortações, 7 encíclicas e dezenas de outros documentos do tipo carta apostólica e motu proprio. Paulo VI foi o primeiro Papa a visitar países em 5 continentes. Devoto de Maria, Paulo VI publicou três encíclicas marianas e em 1967 demonstrou seu carinho pela Virgem Maria sob o título de Nossa Senhora Aparecida, quando enviou uma rosa de ouro para o Santuário Nacional de Aparecida.
Quem estiver passando por Roma no próximo dia 14 de outubro poderá se programar para assistir a canonização do Papa Paulo VI, um evento raro da Santa Sé. Boa viagem.
