O público que não consegue ir ao Museu do Ipiranga, agora poderá visitá-lo na internet. A partir de 31 de janeiro, o museu disponibiliza suas coleções através de uma plataforma on-line, com o objetivo de democratizar o conhecimento produzido dentro do universo museal, dando acesso não só aos acervos salvaguardados pelo museu, como também a todas as pesquisas produzidas a partir deles. Especializado na história da sociedade brasileira, com ênfase na cultura material, o museu possui um acervo de cerca de 30 mil itens, entre pinturas, fotografias e cartazes, além de 25 mil objetos. Seu novo acervo digital está dividido em documentos iconográficos, textuais e tridimensionais.
O museu está utilizando como ferramenta o Tainacan, software livre desenvolvido pelo Laboratório de Inteligência de Redes da Universidade de Brasília, que, além da busca pelas diversas coleções, também reúne um programa de curadorias digitais. A iniciativa convida pesquisadoras e pesquisadores acadêmicos ou não que mobilizaram as coleções do Museu do Ipiranga em suas pesquisas para propor recortes temáticos ou tipológicos que possam despertar o interesse na consulta ao acervo digital. A cada três meses, novas curadorias serão lançadas.
As três primeiras, que inauguram o acervo digital, são: Os Retratos no Acervo do Museu Paulista, reunindo um acervo expressivo de retratos produzidos em diferentes técnicas, materiais e formatos, tanto de pessoas célebres e das elites brasileiras quanto de anônimos; Cartões-Postais, coleção que foi ampliada nas últimas décadas, atingindo atualmente mais de 4 mil cartões-postais – criados em 1869 para compartilhar lembranças, são também correspondências entre passado e presente; e As Representações da Várzea do Carmo, área alagadiça do Rio Tamanduateí, entre o Planalto de Piratininga e o bairro do Brás, que despertou o olhar de pintores e fotógrafos, como Militão Augusto de Azevedo, o primeiro a registrar imagens do local, que estão no Álbum Comparativo da Cidade de São Paulo,1862-1887.
“Os museus, as bibliotecas e os arquivos são guardiões de informações altamente estudadas, curadas por especialistas das áreas, mas presas dentro de instituições. Entender essas instituições como provedoras de informações de qualidade é que faz com que essa discussão sobre os acervos digitais e uso e disponibilização desses acervos na internet sejam a base da ideia de querer construir um repositório digital que facilite a busca e o acesso a essas informações”, afirma Luciana Conrado Martins, historiadora formada pela USP que integra a equipe do Tainacan, durante a live de apresentação do projeto, que ocorreu no final do ano passado. Segundo ela, a disponibilização do acervo pela internet é a forma mais democrática de dar acesso a essas informações de qualidade, desenvolvidas a partir de estudos de especialistas.
“No começo da década de 1990, o museu começou a fazer a digitalização e informatização dos seus acervos”, lembra Solange Ferraz de Lima, docente do Museu do Ipiranga, que coordena o Trabalho de Estratégias Digitais da instituição. A professora conta que na época foi patenteado um sistema interno para armazenamento dos dados, mas ainda era necessário que esse conjunto de informações organizado pudesse acompanhar o ciclo curatorial, incluindo dados sobre a coleta, a documentação e identificação, e também pudesse ser mobilizado pela conservação, registrando os usos das obras (quem usou, quando, em que exposição). E esse novo projeto permite a busca dos acervos do museu pela internet, ampliando o acesso público às suas coleções.
Como aponta Luciana, não há museus em todas as cidades. Segundo dados recentes, somente 30% das cidades brasileiras possuem museus, em grande parte, de pequeno e médio porte. Além disso, diz, essas instituições carecem de infraestrutura técnica (a própria internet) e de profissionais que dominem a tecnologia. Segundo ela, a disponibilização do acervo é a forma mais democrática de dar acesso ao conhecimento que é produzido dentro das instituições museológicas. “Quando se coloca o acervo de forma organizada, dentro de um software contemporâneo que permite compartilhamento de informação na internet, a instituição está dando acesso a esse conhecimento.” Ainda assim, alerta Luciana, é preciso uma política de acervos digitais, ou mesmo uma política de comunicação digital.
Através do Tainacan – um software que leva um nome indígena e significa “a deusa das constelações” – o Museu do Ipiranga disponibiliza seu acervo na internet, facilitando a busca e o acesso às informações para os usuários. Segundo Luciana, o software gratuito permite a gestão e a publicação de acervos digitais na internet, pensado para a realidade das instituições culturais brasileiras. “O Tainacan nasceu na Universidade Federal de Goiás como projeto de pesquisa universitário, da área da ciência da informação, que congrega a museologia e a biblioteconomia”, informa Luciana. “É um projeto que nasce dentro do potencial da cultura digital para democratização do acesso à informação”, reitera.
