A historiadora e moradora do Ipiranga, Cristina Pellegrino Feres, acaba de lançar o livro “A dupla face da guerra” que conta a experiência traumática de um prisioneiro de guerra brasileiro nos campos da Alemanha, durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial.
O lançamento acontece no ano em que se comemora 80 anos da criação da Força Expedicionária Brasileira (FEB), criada pelo governo de Getúlio Vargas para combater o nazifascismo na Itália ao lado das Forças Aliadas.
Durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial cerca de 25 mil homens da FEB foram lutar na Itália, dos quais 35 foram feitos prisioneiros pelas tropas alemãs e levados para cativeiro nos campos de Mosburg, região da Baviera, onde ficaram até a libertação pelas tropas americanas, explica Cristina Feres. O livro aborda a experiência do cativeiro e o trajeto de vida de um prisioneiro de guerra, com suas dificuldades de readaptação à vida social no retorno ao Brasil e as consequentes sequelas psicológicas, a partir dos registros feitos pelo cabo paulista Waldemar Reinaldo Cerezoli em seu diário.
Segundo a pesquisadora, especializada na temática, “diante dos vários conflitos mundiais em curso, o livro traz um tema atual e estimula a reflexão e as discussões acerca do ônus pessoal que prisioneiros de guerra carregam”.
