O salão nobre da Câmara Municipal de São Paulo foi palco para a entrega do 13° Prêmio Paulo Freire de Qualidade do Ensino Municipal. Duas escolas da região foram premiadas. Ao total, foram premiados doze projetos desenvolvidos em unidades educacionais da rede municipal de ensino.
A EMEBS Helen Keller foi premiada pelo seu Projeto “Reciclar: ação para a sustentabilidade” e ficou em terceiro lugar na categoria Ensino Fundamental I. Nesse projeto, os estudantes são incentivados a refletir e propor um plano de ações viáveis, de modo a possibilitar um desenvolvimento sustentável, em uma perspectiva de crescimento econômico pautado na proteção e respeito ao meio ambiente. Os responsáveis são os professores Rita de Cássia Frias, Débora Rodrigues de Oliveira Antolino, Marcos Medeiros Dantas e Selma Regina Machado.
Já a segunda premiada da noite foi a EMEF Altino Arantes com o Projeto “Spot radiofônico – vozes que encantam, comemoram e representam!”, desenvolvido pela professora Carolina Lobrigato e pelo professor Joines Gustavo Ruiz Garcia. O projeto ficou em segundo lugar na categoria Ensino Fundamental II e aborda a produção e a gravação de spots de rádio em comemoração aos 60 anos da escola.
A Câmara Municipal editará um livreto com os projetos premiados e enviará para todas as escolas e bibliotecas do município, a fim de dar publicidade aos projetos.
