No final dos anos 80 e começo dos anos 90, Angélica fazia estrondoso sucesso na extinta TV Manchete, apresentando os programas “Clube da Criança” e “Milk Shake”. Claro que tamanho sucesso chamou a atenção de Silvio Santos e em 09 de agosto de 1993, estreava no SBT o “Casa da Angélica”.
Repleto de música, desenhos e quadros de humor, tudo acompanhado com uma plateia infantil, o “Casa da Angélica” ia ao ar a partir das 15 horas no ano de sua estreia. Em 1994 passou a ser exibido às 16 horas e depois às 7 e meia da manhã. A atração acabou em 1996, quando Angélica transferiu-se para a Rede Globo. Seu programa no SBT alcançava 11 pontos na guerra de audiência, um excelente índice para um programa infantil.
“Casa da Angélica” contava também com quadros de humor aproveitando a performance mostrada pela apresentadora no programa “Milk Shake”. Entre os quadros de maior audiência se destacavam: “Anjôlica”, no qual Angélica imitava o Jô Soares; a apresentadora também satirizava ainda programas de culinária e em especial a culinarista Ofélia; em “AngélicaStrid” ela fazia humor com os Vjs da MTV, dando destaque a Astrid Fontenelle; em “Tempestade de Lágrimas”, Angélica satirizava as novelas mexicanas, com figurinos cafonas e muito exagero nos sentimentos. O quadro em que ela se travestia como o grosseiro taxista Bernardão fazia Silvio Santos reclamar: “Eu contratei você e não esse barbudão”. Além das competições entre a criançada e atrações musicais no palco, o programa ainda tinha matérias externas do interesse do público infantil, com o repórter Otaviano Costa.
Na época, junto com o programa Angélica lançou o álbum “Meu Jeito De Ser”, o disco vendeu 350 mil cópias e rendeu o grande sucesso a “Flecha de Amor”.
Só para constar, o último programa de Angélica no SBT foi ao ar no dia 4 de maio de 1996.
