O Colégio Virgem Poderosa, situado no Ipiranga, é a mais nova unidade a integrar a Rede Santa Catarina. A incorporação faz parte do movimento de expansão educacional da instituição.
A transição teve início com uma agenda de encontros e alinhamento de práticas pedagógicas e administrativas. Oficialmente, a integração será concluída em janeiro.
“Essa nova etapa será marcada por aprendizados, crescimento e união, sempre conduzidos pela fé, pela esperança e pelo compromisso de educar com amor e responsabilidade, cuidando da vida em todas as suas etapas”, afirma o diretor executivo de Educação da Rede Santa Catarina, Paulo Aquino.
O Colégio Virgem Poderosa conta com 85 anos de tradição e foi dirigido por irmãs que pertencem à Companhia das Filhas da Caridade de São Vicente de Paulo – fundada no século XVII, na França, por São Vicente de Paulo e Santa Luísa de Marillac para auxiliar os pobres.
Hoje, o colégio compõe a Rede Santa Catarina, instituição filantrópica, sem fins lucrativos, que reúne mais de 5 mil estudantes em cinco Estados do país (Espírito Santo, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo).
Com 125 anos de atuação no Brasil, a Rede Santa Catarina administra nove instituições de ensino, nas etapas da educação infantil (creche e pré-escola), ensino fundamental e ensino médio, e oferece cerca de 800 bolsas de estudo integrais para estudantes em vulnerabilidade social.
